Novastone Learning
Terms of Use
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Novastone Learning, LLC (“Novastone,” “we” or “us”) for using novastonelearning.com, our films, and the tools that come with them (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If your school, university or program (an “Institution”) has a separate written agreement with us, that agreement controls where it differs from these terms.
1. Accounts and access
- Access is licensed to Institutions. Faculty join by invitation from their Institution; students join with a class code from their instructor.
- Each account is for one person. Keep your sign-in links and any password to yourself.
- Share class codes only with the students they are meant for. Instructors can close a class to stop its code working.
- Give accurate information, and tell us at support@novastonelearning.com if you think someone else has used your account.
2. Licenses, fees and trials
- Each license covers the films listed in the Institution’s order, for one year from the agreed start date, unless the order says otherwise. A free faculty trial covers one film for 7 days.
- Fees are set out in the Institution’s quote or invoice and are due on the terms stated there. Prices shown on the site are estimates until we confirm them. Licenses do not renew automatically.
- Fees are non-refundable, except as stated in the Institution’s order or as required by law.
- When a license ends, access to its films and tools ends for that Institution’s users.
3. What you may do with the films and materials
During the license, we grant the Institution’s faculty and students a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to stream the licensed films and use the materials for teaching and learning within their courses. That includes showing films in class and downloading the film documents for class use.
You may not:
- download, record, copy or redistribute the films, or post them publicly;
- share access with people outside the licensed Institution;
- use the films, characters or materials commercially, or to train AI models;
- try to get around sign-in or access limits, extract the characters’ hidden instructions, scrape the Service, or disrupt it.
4. The AI characters and the Coach
- The characters are fictional. Their replies are generated by artificial intelligence and may be incomplete, inconsistent or wrong. They are teaching material, not statements of fact.
- The Coach is designed to guide your reasoning, not to give answers. Nothing in the Service is legal, professional or employment advice.
- Don’t enter sensitive personal information about yourself or real people, such as real students, staff or confidential school matters.
- Use the conversations respectfully. We may limit or suspend accounts used to harass, to generate harmful content, or to misuse the AI.
5. Your work
You keep ownership of what you write in the Service, including your reflections and your messages. You give us permission to store and process it to run the Service for you and your Institution. That includes showing Notebook summaries and Coach reports to your instructors, as described in the Privacy Policy.
6. Our content
The films, characters, scripts, documents, frameworks, software and design of the Service belong to Novastone and its licensors, and are protected by copyright and other laws. Except for the rights in section 3, these terms give you no rights in them. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
7. Suspension and ending access
We may suspend or end an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or other users at risk. Where we reasonably can, we will tell the Institution first. An Institution may end its users’ access by contacting us. Sections 3 (the restrictions), 5, 6, 8, 9 and 10 continue after access ends.
8. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep the Service available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Novastone will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees the Institution paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim arose, or $100 if none were paid.
10. General
- These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
- We may update these terms. We will post changes here, update the date at the top, and notify Institutions of material changes before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
- If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
- You may not transfer these terms. We may transfer them as part of a merger or sale of our business.
